This year the jenang festival was held on Monday, February
17 2020 in Ndalem Joyokusuman. Solo’s people very enthusiastic about
participating in the jenang festival which was held routinely every year.
Previously, the Jenang Festival was held in Ngarsopuro, but this year the
location was changed.
As many as 10 thousand jenang plates can be enjoyed by
visitors for free. The jenang was presented from 275 tenants from various
elements of society and the community. There are 17 types of Jenang Solo that
they can choose to enjoy. Starting from the Jenang Sepasaran, Jenang Lemu,
Jenang Grendul, Jenang Timbul, Jenang Ngangrang, Jenang Warni Empat, Jenang
Taming, Jenang Sumsum, Jenang Pati, Jenang Kokoh, Jenang Slaka, Jenang Lahan,
Jenang Majemukan, Jenang Katul, Jenang Procot, Jenang Abang Putih, dan Jenang
Sengkala.
Jenang for Solo City is more than just snacks or special
food. In Javanese culture in Solo, every jenang has a meaning and a description
of Javanese people's behavior.
